I first came to MyDental in Lutz in 2022 after several friends recommended Dr. Marina Shurova. The office was also conveniently located near my work, accepted my dental insurance, and had Russian-speaking staff, which made my decision even easier. Looking back, choosing this office was one of the best healthcare decisions I’ve made. Over the past several years, Dr. Shurova has become my trusted dentist. She has helped me with professional cleanings, fillings, a dental crown, orthodontic treatment with braces, the extraction of a tooth with a severe vertical fracture, routine X-rays, and now my ongoing TMJ treatment. My TMJ case has been particularly challenging. My lower jaw was positioned too far behind my upper jaw, and I had extremely loud jaw clicking that affected my daily life. Since 2024, Dr. Shurova has been carefully treating my condition using advanced 3D imaging, custom daytime and nighttime splints, and now we’re working on correcting my bite. TMJ treatment is a long process, and I truly appreciate having a dentist who is knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely committed to achieving the best possible outcome. What I appreciate most is the quality of care. Dr. Shurova is incredibly attentive, honest, gentle, and always takes the time to explain every step of the treatment plan. I never feel rushed, and I always know exactly why a procedure is recommended. I have been going to MyDental and seeing Dr. Marina Shurova for over five years. During that time, she has treated several of my teeth, done fillings and crowns, and also removed one of my wisdom teeth. Over the years, I also brought my husband and both of my kids here, so now our whole family comes to MyDental. Recently, one of my crowns started changing color and eventually cracked. I called the office, and they were able to get me in very quickly. Dr. Marina replaced the crown and took an X-ray afterward to make sure everything was fitting properly. I really appreciated that she didn’t just finish the procedure and send me home, but actually took the time to check that everything looked right. For me, it’s very important to have a dentist I can trust, especially when my whole family comes here as well. After more than five years, I still feel comfortable and confident coming to MyDental. Next year, I’m planning to come back to have my remaining wisdom teeth removed and get an implant.
I’ve been a patient of Dr. Shurova since 2021, when Dr. Garcia began retiring and she took over my care. Other than Dr. Garcia, Dr. Shurova is the only dentist I’ve found who truly understands my dental issues and my specific needs when it comes to anesthesia. She has performed several extractions for me, including some very complicated ones, and I’ve always felt that I was in very capable and caring hands.
